Therapy for People who have spent a lot of time feeling unseen.
Trauma-focused counselling and EMDR for People who are used to carrying things on their own.
Does this sound familiar?
You’ve spent a lot of your life handling things on your own.
You’re there for other people, but you’re not always sure what you need.
You may understand what happened in your past, but still notice it showing up in your relationships, your reactions, or the way you feel about yourself.
Maybe you didn’t grow up in a home or community where talking about emotions, asking for help, or feeling seen was normal.
And maybe part of you still wonders whether therapy is really for you.
If some of this sounds familiar, we can start there.

Meet Jermaine
A therapist who believes being understood matters.
I’m Jermaine Kemp, a Registered Clinical Counsellor and trauma therapist. I’ve spent more than 20 years supporting people through difficult seasons of their lives.
My approach is relational, straightforward, and collaborative. I’m not here to judge you or tell you what your life should look like.
We’ll slow things down, understand what’s happening now, and work together on the things that may be keeping you stuck.
For some people, therapy already feels familiar. For others, talking about emotions, asking for help, or being vulnerable was never really part of their world.
You don’t have to know exactly what to say. We can start where you are.
"Healing begins when someone bears witness. I see you. I believe you. It matters." - Dr. Thema
I am a relational therapist and I understand each client has unique needs. That means I am flexible and adapt my approach when forming a treatment plan for your needs.
Trauma doesn’t always look like one terrible event.
Sometimes it’s growing up feeling unseen, unheard, or responsible for everyone else.
Sometimes it’s learning to stay quiet, stay strong, or handle everything on your own.
And sometimes you understand what happened to you, but your body, relationships, or reactions are still carrying it.
Therapy can be a place to finally slow that down, understand it, and begin responding differently.
Once you submit an inquiry, I will be in touch to arrange a free 5-10 minute telephone consultation. This is something I do with any potential client, for us to get a sense of each other before booking a face-to-face assessment session.
